Now What!?!

Wow – Christmas came fast this year! It’s only two days after the kids begin their Christmas break…that leaves 14 days straight before they go back to school. Some parents love that, some parents put the kids in care, some parents are at a loss of things to do.

Here are a few things going on around North Grenville over the holidays

Who cares if it is cold! Get outside…plus it’s a good reason to go for a hot chocolate afterwards.

Check out the forests!

Outdoor Skating at Southgate Church…not open yet but hopefully very soon!

Feed the chickadees at Lime Kiln Trail

Make sure you bring some bird seed!

Mudpuppy Night in Oxford Mills

Friday, December 30 2016 & Friday, January 06 2017 at 8:00pm

Mudpuppies! Huh? Yup – who knew? Not me!

“This is the opportunity to see our giant aquatic Salamanders at the only place in Ontario where they’re known to be easily viewed during their winter activity. We assemble on the County Road 18 bridge below the dam, and walk around the shore or ice shelves, seeing up to 180 Mudpuppies prowling the bottom. Afterwards we retire to the Brigadoon Restaurant, to drink coffee, eat desserts, and talk about Mudpuppies and everything else!”

What a cool thing to do right here in North Grenville!

….Forget that…it’s too cold! Okay – I can relate to that as well…

There is no charge for the meal although donations are appreciated.

The Friendship Lunch is available from October through May on Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m in Leslie Hall next to St James Church on Clothier Street in Kemptville.

The Friendship Lunch menu alternates each week between a soup and sandwich lunch, and a hot entree. A variety of desserts are provided with coffee, tea and juice.

All are welcome to come and enjoy food and fellowship!
